Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. (Psalms 8:6-8).

In Genesis 1:26-28 God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: let them have dominion… So God created man in his own image… And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” The Lord God blessed man and commanded him to multiply, fill the earth and take possession of all things. But think for a moment; it wouldn’t be much of a benefit to us if we can’t have control over the things He has given us possession of all things and to ‘have dominion over them.’

How do you exercise dominion over the things God has given you possession of? By being determined to receive God’s Word by faith and act on it even when it looks impossible, knowing He specializes in making the impossible possible. That’s the God you serve, with Him all things are possible (Luke 1:37). Child of God, start speaking the impossible into being. Let people marvel at you just the way they marvelled at Jesus and wondered, ‘Who is this man that even the winds and waves obey Him’ (Mark 4:39).

Yes, you can speak to your body, your job, your family, finances… anything God has given you possession of. You can begin to exercise dominion over them by declaring the Word of God by faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
